free as in proper freedom
Woohoo! ChattyHome is now free to be distributed in any form I like, with or without the source code. Another words, I got rid of MySQL and replaced it with PostgreSQL, former being GNU licensed and the latter BSD licensed. The migration was not very painful, but it was time consuming. No functionality was harmed during production of this result ;) Many thanks to Dru Satori for creating PGSQLKit and licensing it with an honest license.
BTW, the migration of graphs reminded me why exactly I'm not that happy with JpGraph - once you get it up and running it's a nice tool, but getting it up and running on a Mac is a bloody nightmare. When I started the migration the graphs were still running on the old iMac G5 which used to be the server, and I wanted to take the opportunity and move them to MacMini, as there was no PostgreSQL php connector on iMac anyway. Well, after a few hours of struggling I gave up and just installed the connector on iMac, graphs are still there. The more motivation for me to find a strategic graphing solution, I guess.
